The Perinatal Collective: Welcome to our amazing Birth Community
The Perinatal Collective is our ongoing community, mentoring, and support that comes with training with us, included in your course, and there for the whole of your career.
Build a career, not just a qualification.
Being brilliant at supporting families isn't enough if no one knows you exist.
The reality is that qualifying is only the beginning. The biggest challenges often come after the course has finished.
How do you find your first clients? Create an antenatal course that people actually want to book? Market yourself without feeling salesy? What happens when you support your first birth and need someone to debrief with afterwards? How do you keep learning, growing and developing as maternity care evolves?
We don't just help you qualify. We help you turn your passion into a lifelong career, with tried and tested launch strategies, business mentoring, and step-by-step guidance. We'll help you turn your passion into a lifelong career supporting families!

“What really sets them apart is the ongoing support after the course. You gain access to a wonderful network of fellow birth workers, along with ongoing resources, workshops, and guidance”
Real workshops, real strategies
When you choose our training, we won't tell you to simply "manifest your birth business." We give you practical strategies that actually work.
We've worked hard to build our own birth businesses, and we're passionate about sharing everything we've learnt. We don't keep the good stuff to ourselves, we want you to build something sustainable, fulfilling, and successful, in your own community and wherever else your journey takes you.
Continue to learn alongside some brilliant people
We're incredibly lucky to work alongside some amazing people including:
Mars Lord, Doula, Black Birth Activist, Award Winning Coach
Emma Ashworth, Uk Birth Rights Consultant, Author of the AIMS guide to Induction of Labour and more
Rose, founder of Queer Birth
Victoria founder of Neurodivergent Birth and The Mindful Breastfeeding School
Amongst many others, bringing fresh perspectives and specialist knowledge into our community.
Birth work doesn't stop when you graduate
Neither should your learning. The Perinatal Collective is one of the things we're most proud of, far more than a membership, it's an incredible community of birth workers who genuinely want one another to succeed.
It's where we're chatting most days, asking questions, celebrating successes, working through challenges. It's where you can ask for advice before teaching your first class, debrief after a difficult birth, and share your wins with people who truly understand this work.
Alongside regular workshops, you'll find updates on maternity policies and reports, business mentoring, monthly get-togethers, and guest experts whenever you need them. As well as our downloadable templates and guides in our Birthworker Toolkit.
For our antenatal educators, we're alongside you as you launch your first course, choose your venue, and create a space parents love coming back to.
For our doulas, we're with you as you begin supporting families, offering guidance, reassurance, practical templates, and a trusted sounding board as you grow into your role.
Quite simply, we're here for the long term. We're not interested in simply producing graduates, we're passionate about developing exceptional birth workers who keep learning, questioning, and growing throughout their careers.
Meet Sam…
Hello! Sam here, founder of The Perinatal Academy!
I lead our business and marketing training, bringing over 20 years of experience in branding, marketing and sales across national publications and household names including Pampers, Boots and The Co-op.
After finally taking the step to qualifying in antenatal education in 2021, I built my own successful independent antenatal business, with regularly sold-out courses, five star reviews and consistent midwife recommendations. It grew to the point where I was able to hire other antenatal teachers to deliver courses and workshops across multiple areas.
Stepping into Doula work in 2024 meant I could no longer run three businesses at once while also being the mum I wanted to be, so in 2025 I sold my local antenatal business to new ownership. It is still thriving today, and I continue to teach for them because I genuinely love the work so much! I can’t leave!
I’ve used my media & marketing background and birth business experience to become highly skilled at finding expectant and new parents where they’re at through social media, SEO, hyper-local advertising and in-person community events.
I’ll be coaching you on how to set up and grow your own business, and you’ll also receive digital marketing training from The Business of Babies so you can create real momentum, with continued support long after your course ends.
I feel so strongly that when you choose this path, you should know expert support is always there. So even though you are self employed, you never have to feel like you are doing it alone!
If you have any questions at all about our courses, payment plans or what this work could look like for you then get in touch!
