Hello! Sam here, founder of The Perinatal Academy!
I lead our business and marketing training, bringing over 20 years of experience in branding, marketing and sales across national publications and household names including Pampers, Boots, The Co-op and many more.
After finally taking the step to qualifying in antenatal education in 2021, I built my own successful independent antenatal business, with regularly sold-out courses, five star reviews and consistent midwife recommendations. It grew to the point where I was able to hire other wonderful antenatal teachers to deliver courses and workshops across multiple areas.
Stepping into Doula work in 2024 meant I could no longer run three businesses at once while also being the mum I wanted to be, so in 2025 I sold my local antenatal business to new ownership. It is still thriving today, and I continue to teach for them because I genuinely love the work so much! I can’t leave!
I’ve used my media & marketing background and birth business experience to become highly skilled at finding expectant and new parents where they’re at through social media, SEO, hyper-local advertising and in-person community events.
I’ll be coaching you on how to set up and grow your own business, and you’ll also receive digital marketing training from The Business of Babies so you can create real momentum, with continued support long after your course ends.
I feel so strongly that when you choose this path, you should know expert support is always there.
So even though you are self employed, you never have to feel like you are doing it alone!

When you choose our training, we won’t tell you to just ‘manifest your birth business’. We give you launch strategies, SEO training, marketing workshops AI guidance, a step by step business course (on top of the core training) business mentorship and so much more!
This is something we are fiercely passionate about, giving you really strong foundations and up to date relevant support, guidance and expertise as you build your business in your community and where ever else it takes you!
This really sets us apart, our resources and ongoing support. Plus we’re all running our own birth businesses too, living and breathing it daily like you will be! We’ve worked hard to get our clients and we share all we know.
The Perinatal Collective is a space where we are chatting most days, we ask questions, share successes and ask for advice. Our community is amazing and so valuable. We are so proud of what we are building together.
We host extra workshops, to compliment our core learning, time to really deep dive into all the subjects we are passionate about. You will also find updates on maternity policies and reports, business mentoring, monthly get togethers and more in depth support if you need it!
We work with some AMAZING people, such as Mars Lord, Emma Ashworth, plus the team at The Queer Birth Club, Neurodivergent Birth and The Mindful Breastfeeding School amongst others.
There is also a whole heap of resources for your Doula work, Antenatal teaching, and your own personal development.
We’re alongside you as you launch your first course, as you search for your venue, and how to make your space feel right. For our Doulas we’re with you as you start to walk alongside the parents you support to be a soundboard for you, plus we give you templates for all the important documents you might need for your Doula business.
Basically we are here for ongoing mentoring and support, it’s uplifting, constructive and vital honestly! We are a family, growing all the time and we absolutely love our birth community!
Membership to The Perinatal Collective is included in your investment for the first 12 months, then if you want to stay with us a small monthly admin fee will apply.
